I completed my Ph.D in Electrical Engineering, Columbia University (2024), supervised by Christine P. Hendon.
My research is to develop optical imaging systems, specifically, optical coherence tomography (OCT) and near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) to guide the diagnosis and the therapy of cardiac arrythmias. Before that, I received M.S. in Columbia University (2020) and B.Eng. in Fudan University (2018).
My experience is a combination of science and business, through accelerators and internship in venture capitals. I am interested in tech transformation, with a deep belief in the power of optics-driven innovations to change the world and improve human well-being. My commitment is to raise public awareness of how optics and photonics innovations can contribute to human society.
My research project has been recognized as:
3rd Prize, SPIE Startup Challenge (2025) Press release
CTV Innovation Award (2024)
Columbia SEAS Ignition Award (2024)
1st Prize, Columbia Healthcare Ventures Fast-Pitch Competition Press release
I provide volunteer business mentorship for STEM PhDs/Postdocs with a purely scientific background to take the first step toward research commercialization —— building the first pitch deck or applying the first grant, before being able to enroll senior business advisors.
My mentee projects have won: Harvard HCCF Startup Pitch Competition (2025), Materialize New York Accelerator (2024), Clinical Innovation Lab Grant (2024), Columbia BiomedX Award (2023).
